Shinryoku Yakitori Restaurant

Was introduced to this little japanese restaurant by someone who attended the same leadership training. She mentioned about this small place that served decent yakitori buffet and free flow of japanese sake. Well, all she had to say was FREE FLOW of sake and I was sold. So yeah, time for allie to check out new joints.

This place is located at Purvis Street. Not a very big outlet so one may miss it while walking along that street. You might want to look out for a bright green signboard.

It was a tuesday night, so the deal was S$49+ per person for ala carte buffet. And since it was a weekday night, I did not go for the top-up (add $20 for free flow of beer / shochu or $30 for free flow of sake).

I was told the Salmon Skin Salad is a must-try. And that was the first dish we ordered. That recommendation did not disappoint. You should try it! The chicken wings were decent. Not too bad at all. The gingko nuts were ok - at least they weren't overcooked like those in Minori. I couldn't complain about the grilled corn. Well, at least they had that in the list. That is important coz I love corn.

This place is great for people who drinks. Coz a person who drinks wouldn't mind paying $79+ for dinner and sake. The food is decent. Good place if you're looking for a jap buffet place. But if you're into food, then you might be better off spending that money at other better known yakitori place, where they serve premium quality stuff.

Thoughts Amidst Craziness

This week is challenging. On my first day back at work for the week, I had to lead a "huddle". I had to lead the entire division in this group session to remind them about their service values. And what makes it challenging was the presence of a special guest. This special guest was from the management. This added stress to me. I had to conduct the best huddle ever! So, I spent the morning drawing up the energizer game. Good thing the session went well. And the special guest commented that it was a "fantastic session"! Phew!

There are several tough decisions to be made. All of which would impact my life in a BIG way.

But I learnt some stuff over the last few days:
  • Timing is crucial. Sometimes, a good thing can happen at a bad timing; a bad thing can happen at a good timing. You hit jackpot when a good thing happens at a good timing - and we all know what's that probability.
  • Commitment cannot happen by just talking about it. You got to do something to make it happen.
  • You can force yourself into a relationship, but you cannot force yourself into LOVE. Perhaps I was too anxious to be in a relationship earlier this month. I guessed we all knew but I refused to admit. Perhaps, we both knew it wasn't IT and it wasn't meant to be.
  • Soulmates are forever. That feeling you get with a soul mate is like the feeling you get when you're wearing your favourite old tee-shirt that has that comforting smell and gentleness of the fabric.
  • No matter how challenging times are, work always keeps me alive.
  • Some of us don't believe in 2nd chances. But it takes only one person to believe in giving a 3rd chance to make it work.
  • It's not about how long you know a person, but how much the person reveals to you that matters.
What's with all that deep thoughts? It has been a crazy few days and may continue to be. But I'll continue to embrace my life with vigour and enthusiasm. All I hope for, is to have less pain and disappointments in my life. *cross fingers*
